Our Story
The 20 acre property, which Yellow House Inn was built on in 2008, once belonged to a nearby rancher who owned many of the acreages surrounding the inn. The red barn and homestead just west of the lot are original buildings from that ranch. After studying the highest point of the lot for months, mapping the sun exposure, prime views and wind currents, the architect finally settled on the exact placement of the house, which would allow for maximum sunshine and light through the windows, as well as areas of calm around the house, protected from the winds. Starting from scratch, the owners drilled a well and had natural gas and electricity run to the acreage. Year after year, additions were added to the landscape and exterior, including the many trees, gardens, pergola, play house, and pool, to give the added touch of a vintage estate feel. Starting in 2019, Yellow House Inn was listed on Airbnb with great results and wonderful guests visiting the inn from all over the country. At the same time, friends and family would often ask to use the property for special events.
Today, Yellow House Inn brings a touch of class, elegance, and “wow” to any event, with the expertise of our in house event coordinator, and the one of a kind, breathtaking views of Larkspur, Dawson’s Butte, Devil’s head, Pikes Peak, Mount Evans, Boulder, Long’s Peak, and west Denver—all at once.
Much Love,
The Yellow House Inn Team
